Another beautiful house blessing! ✝️🏡

Recently, it was a great joy for Fr. Greg to visit the home of Seejo, Merry Catherine, and their family to celebrate a House Blessing. May the Lord abundantly bless their home with His peace, love, joy, and protection, and may Christ always be at the center of their family life.

A house blessing is a beautiful Catholic tradition that invites God's grace into our homes, asking Him to watch over all who live there and all who enter. It is a wonderful opportunity to dedicate our homes to the Lord and to pray that they may always be places of faith, hope, hospitality, and love.

"Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain." - Psalm 127:1

If you would like to have your home blessed, we would be delighted to come and pray with you! Simply contact the parish office to arrange a time.

A convalidation is the celebration through which a marriage becomes valid in the eyes of the Catholic Church. During the ceremony, the couple exchanges their consent according to the Church's form and receives God's blessing upon their marriage. If the couple are baptized they receive the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.

❓Does it cost anything?
No. The Church does not charge for convalidations.

👔 Do we have to dress up?
That's entirely up to you! Some couples choose a simple ceremony, while others invite family and friends and celebrate much like a wedding.

If you are Catholic but were not married in the Catholic Church, consider speaking with your pastor. A convalidation:

We are excited to welcome Fr. Daniel Naim back to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church as he celebrates his First Mass in English - and first in Canada!

Fr. Daniel spent his pastoral year with our parish during his seminary formation, and we are honoured that he has chosen to celebrate this special occasion with our parish family.

Following Mass, everyone is warmly invited to a reception in the parish hall as we congratulate Fr. Daniel and pray for him as he begins his priestly ministry.
